Miller: Oden Expected at Training Camp

“Greg is, from all indications, doing very well,” Miller said. “His rehab is going great. The doctors are pleased with where he is. Mentally, it sounds like Greg is in a good place. I think he feels good about our organization and how we’ve supported him through all this. And hopefully Greg will be here and be able to help him out this season.”

However, Oden probably will not be ready to play when the season starts.

Oden, who had microfracture surgery on his left knee Nov. 19, 2010, has not been cleared to participate in any basketball activity that involves contact but is scheduled to be evaluated by doctors next week. Miller said he expects Oden to be at training camp — although he doesn’t know “how much activity he’ll be able to participate in.” It’s unlikely Oden will return until January, he said.
