Minnesota Mbakwe gets another year
Minnesota senior forward Trevor Mbakwe was granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA.
Mbawke had his season cut short when he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in a game against Dayton in November.
The 6-8, 245-pounder was averaging 14 points and 9.1 rebounds prior to the injury.
Mbakwe, who led the Big Ten Conference in rebounding with 10.5 per game during his junior season, has not said if he will return for the Gophers.
