Mississippi State basketball coach Rick Stansbury on Friday dismissed freshman guard D.J. Gardner from the team.

The 6-7 Gardner was dismissed for “repeated actions deemed detrimental to the team.” The Clarion-Ledger reported that Gardner wrote profanities on his Twitter page after learning that he may be redshirted for the 2011-12 season.

Evans has seen four players leave in the last nine months – Gardner, Twany Beckham, John Riek and Elgin Bailey.
