Mississippi State names Ray new hoops coach
Mississippi State named Rick Ray as its new men’s basketball coach.
Ray has spent the past four seasons at the top assistant at Clemson. He will be formally introduced at a press conference Monday.
Ray will succeed Rick Stansbury, who retired last month after 14 seasons at the school.
The 40-year-old Ray also spent four seasons as an assistant at Purdue and seven seasons in the same capacity with Indiana State.
