Denver Nuggets guard Nate Robinson was fined $10,000 for pushing Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams from behind and hitting him in the chest during a preseason game last week.
Robinson was penalized Monday for his actions that occurred with 10:59 left in the fourth quarter of the Nuggets’ 109-81 loss on Tuesday. The 5-9 guard was behind Adams, 7-0, 255 rookie, fighting for a rebound when the contact first was initiated. Robinson was ejected from the game.
Robinson, 29, is in his first season with the Nuggets after playing last year with the Chicago Bulls. He signed a two-year deal worth about $4 million coming off one of the best seasons of his career, including averaging 16.3 points in 12 playoff games.
Adams, 20, is a New Zealand native drafted 12th overall by the Thunder after a single season at Pittsburgh.
