Welcome to NBA Chat with HOOPSWORLD Senior Writer Eric Pincus. I’ve got all the questions I can handle. Thanks for participating!
Eric covers the L.A. Lakers, Clippers and NBA at large.
I can’t stand seeing Kobe go ISO and get double/triple teamed, while Gasol is waiting outside of 3pt line, and Kobe just does NOT pass it. I see it so often especially in 4th qtr. Is that Mike Brown’s offense set? Or just Kobe wants to take everything on himself?
How is Gasol’s shoulder?
Last week Brown said they’ve got about 1/3 of the offense installed. That – and the hectic schedule – is a big part of why LA has stalled. Just have to deal with it this season.
Good afternoon,My question do you think the lakers should trade for Mo Williams from the clippers. And also wouldnt it be and power move for the lakers to send gasol to timber wolfs for kevin love.Mo Williams at the point,Bryant at the shooting guard and Love at the power forward along with Andrew. Smells like another Lakers championship.
The two flaws I see is that the Clippers won’t trade Mo to the Lakers and the Wolves won’t trade Love to the Lakers, otherwise . . . well. So yeah.
How do you think D.J. Augustin would fit in with the lakers. knowing that kupchak isnt doing any signings soon i’d imagine augustin with good or at least decent dribble penetration would fit the lakers lack of point guard issue especially with the injury to steve blake, and i’m not really liking morris’s passive gameplay on offense. what do you think about augustin to the lakers and would he fit in and help them
I’m not convinced Augustin has a true NBA body. He out now for four games and I just see him as a bit too slight and an injury risk.
The Lakers losses to Miami and Orlando were horrible. Do you think the lakes should make any moves after those losses. And if they should make moves who do you think would make a good fit? Devin harris? Deron Williams? and also how bout gilbert arenas?
Harris has lost a step, can’t shoot and makes more than the Odom trade exception. If you want to argue something like Walton + Barnes and say Caracter? Is that worthwhile for Harris who has been really struggling this year? The only positive is that Harris only has one more year as does Walton – but also, is that the kind of return the Jazz are looking for in Devin?
As far as Deron – good luck, he’s not available. If you wan to say Arenas – at least that’s an easy move. It just doesn’t sound like LA is ready to go that route just yet.
Love the chats.
It seems that the Lakers plan is to wait for Dwight Howard, Kevin Love or Deron Williams to become available closer to trade deadline.
If none become available at the deadline what are the Lakers secondary trade targets?
Was there any truth to the rumor that the Lakers are trying to get Paul Pierce?
I don’t see how.
You seem to have great insight into the Lakers thinking. You predicted the Gasol trade and also said in previous chats that you knew the Lakers were pursuing Chris Paul.
What do you think is the Lakers target if they can’t get D12 or Deron Williams?
To be fair, i predicted “A” Gasol to Lakers trade – I didn’t predict that it would be for Kwame and all that. As far as Paul, he was tops on LA’s list for a long time and why they made the Baron moves they did. I tried to explain their thinking but people got hung up on how the pick to the Cavs came up #1.
Looking ahead, I just see LA as treating this year as a transition. If there’s no Howard decision this season, there may not be a Deron decision either – which to me says LA waits a bit for the opportunity at those kind of franchise level players. It’s rare when they become available and there’s not much close that’s really going to right the Lakers.
Why hasn’t Kevin Love signed his Max Extension yet?
Still negotiating on that fifth year.
When the players overseas get out of their contracts in March do you see the Lakers targeting either Aaron Brooks or J.R. Smith?
Possibly although LA has only the min to offer, unless the Suns or Nuggets want to help in a sign and trade. Brooks is restricted, so he’s not an easy get – arguably an impossible one without the Suns.
Mitch Kuptchek seems to work best under secrecy. Have you heard of anything they may be working on right now?
I don’t really buy that one. If it’s quiet – is it quiet because he’s working on something or is it quiet because nothing is going on? I don’t know if there’s some magic solution unless LA makes a run at OJ Mayo with a pick/trade exception – but are the Grizzlies ready to move him?
Do the Lakers have to have a big star like D-Will or Howard to turn things around? Given that they have Bryant, Bynum, and Gasol, couldn’t a tweak like adding a Kirk Hinrich right the ship?
Hinrich could be a minor help but do the Lakers have something to offer of value to the Hawks? As far as long term, Lakers need that star power.
You have been preaching patience to Laker fans about trades this year. Do you know something that we dont?
I don’t know, what do you know?
Boris Diaw: Who rents his services for the remainder of the year?
That’s actually an interesting question. You can argue that he showcased his value well as a starter, even though the team was losing. I’m going to keep my eye on him.
the magic are currently 11,186,087 dollars above the cap.
if dwight were to opt out that would free up 18,091 770 in cap space putting us at 6,905,683 dollars bellow the cap
if the magic were to trade Nelson for Andre Millers expiring contract and allow Millers contract to come off the books that would free up an additional 7,807,728
putting the magic bellow cap 14,713,411. if they were to use the stretch provision on j rich that would free up enough cap space for them to sign a major market free agent and re-up on howard since they have his bird rights similar to how Miami was able to sign both Bosh and James and then use there bird rights on Wade.
my question is how realistic would this methodical plan be for Otis to do? and if the Magic had the financial cap space to sign a market free agent would Howard then decide to resign with the Magic?
I’d have to run the numbers but keep in mind that Howard as a free agent would have a massive cap hold, so even he’s not signed – he’d still count at say $19 mil against Orlando’s books. I’m still looking at the CBA to figure out how cap holds have changed but there’s no getting around that one. Now if you said Howard walked and the team cut Redick and traded Nelson and let Anderson, go, etc. – perhaps they can come up with a sizable amount of cap space but that may be counter-productive.
Mike Brown deserves a lot of credit for revitalizing the Lakers defense. That being said, the offense is ugly. More time is helping, but even at best I don’t see it fully maximizing the strengths of the current personal. Any chance the Lakers return to the triple-post offense with the first unit? They could bring in a Rambis, R. Harper, Hamblen, etc as an assistant and lean on Kobe, Derek, and Luke to implement it right away. The bench unit with Peace, Blake, Morris, etc could then play with a more traditional offense more suited to their strengths.
The Laker front office purged the organization of just about everything Phil Jackson/triangle related – all but Jeanie. They’re not going back.
Why are the Bobcats struggling so much this year? Do you think Paul Silas will get fired? What do you think we need to do to get better?
It’s not the coach, it’s the personnel.
Hey Eric, what are your thoughts on the rumoured Amare and Tyson for Dwight trade proposal? (excluding taking into account all necessary fillers) I really think that this is a win-win trade for both sides based on Rich DeVos’s desire to keep the team competitive over the next few years as it gives them an extremely intimidating and formidable frontline. On the other hand it also frees up cap space for the knicks to either sign a superstar free agent such as D-Will or fill up the other holes on their roster with free agents such as Nash at PG, Ray Allen at SG provided he wants to leave Boston and possibly Jamison or Garnett at PF provided he also wants to leave Boston. What are your thoughts on these proposals? Cheers and sorry for the long essay type question.
It’s interesting and while I don’t think the Magic go there, it shouldn’t be easily dismissed. Regardless we wait until after All-Star.
Steve Blake and Pau for Lawry, K. Martin and Scola. Who says no?
is granger enough to get gordon from the hornets? if not then what will it take?
Hornets likely hold until there’s new ownership in place.
Hi Eric love your column(s)and chats. Do you think Atlanta would trade Kirk Hinrich to the Lakers just using the Odom trade exception? Or would that be a wise move for the Lakers??? I feel something really needs to get done about the PG situation to be a really good team even if they get Howard?
Hinrich hasn’t played all year recovering from a shoulder injury. Is he THAT much better than Steve Blake that it’s worth giving up a valuable piece like the Odom TPE? I’d wait until the NBA Draft or offseason before going there.
The Lakers are my team. I read an article recently about how Gasol wants the ball more in the post? If he wants the ball in the post, then he should establish position in the post rather than keeping shooting jumpers. He wants to do one thing but then doesn’t do it? That’s why he is always in trade discussions. I think the Lakers need to trade him asap. I understand he has European game, but as a power foward, he needs to be more aggressive. What about Kevin Love for Gasol?
Gasol is very valuable and still a tremendous player. The Lakers have three guys who want the ball in the low post (Bynum/Bryant/Gasol) and then so does Metta World Peace. Everyone of them needs the ball – in their spots – which makes it hard to even work in a ball-dominant point guard like most Laker fans clamor for. There’s no clear answer ahead. Putting it on Pau wouldn’t be right but then he’s got his share of the blame as well. If LA could get Love for Gasol they would but that doesn’t appear possible at this time.
Utah really is the most interesting team this year. I mean they have to be THE most surprising team, or at least in the conversation being picked to be horrible, and now 3rd in the West. They went into this season with “the glut” of bigs, and talk that one needed to be or would be moved. Now Paul and Al both playing great, Favors and Kanter looking very good. On the other side, Devin not so good. They have a TPE and GS pick in ’12. What does Utah do, who do they move if any at all? Do they just stay the course? They need their PG of the future from somewhere…..
I’m not sure the Jazz get a taker for Harris. Certainly Mo Williams is a better available option if anyone has something of value to offer. The Jazz have benefited some from schedule but Paul Millsap has been tremendous, they have good size and a younger so I can see why they’ve been solid – but I can’t deny they’re a lot better than I thought they’d be. Utah is still in transition though. It may just take some time to piece it together properly.
Why don’t the Lakers go after O.J. Mayo? He gets to come home and he provides the scoring spark off the bench the Lakers need.
Perhaps because he’s looking for a major contract this summer – one LA may not be prepared to dole out as they reconfigure. That said, if he truly became available to them – wouldn’t they have to at least consider it?
I realize the lakers & the League are waiting for the Howard/Williams domino to fall. But in the meantime how about J.R. Smith in March. Possibly Michael Beasley or O.J. Mayo for more offensive power? Is Aaron Brooks or Ramon Sessions Maybe Daniel Gibson who knows Browns Offense?
Easy to say names, but where will the Lakers be in March? Will their min contract impress when others can give more? I would argue LA needs more firepower but the right kind of firepower – and that’s not Beasley. Last I heard Sessions and Gibson weren’t yet available.
If you’re the Jazz who do you trade Jefferson or Milsap? with Favors and Kanter on the roster doesn’t make sense to keep both, I think Milsap has more Value due to age and upside and his recent play certainly helps his stock but is he someone you really wanna get rid of?
I’d shop both for the best return, but not until I know that the team’s record is a mirage . . .
the knicks can wait until march to grab afflao chandler smith and martin which player do you think is most attainable?
Not Afflalo – not Chandler. Smith or Martin would be easy.
Greetings Mr P, so my Pacers went into LA and came out with a victory. What were your impressions, if you happened to catch the game
The Pacers are for real this year. I’m impressed. They’re well coached.
Hey EP, what is the fans opinion of McBob? Is he quickly becomming a fan favorite? I thought it was a great pickup that flew under the radar of much bigger signings
McRoberts was a good get for the Lakers but they obviously need more!
Will the Hornets extend an offer to Eric Gordon before the deadline or is Stern waiting for new ownership first? Rumor has it Pacers have been after Gordon since his time in LA. What would be your concerns with a contract for EG, given his injury history?
I’m going to guess they don’t give the extension.
How much , if any does the fault of the Lakers current “struggle” lay on the hands of Mike Brown? Who do you thinkn is more difficult to coach LeBron or Kobe and why?
Minimally on Brown. I’m going to say LeBron is harder to coach, given the results. It may be more painful coaching Kobe but the rings speak for themselves.
Who would you rather have and why for your team: Darren Williams or Russel Westbrook? (assume your starting from scratch)
Good question, probably Deron by a tiny hair but even that may not be the case. Pick blindly instead?
is otis smith willing to pull the trigger and send amare and tyson for dwight and ryan anderson?
Nope, he’s not.
As you look at the struggles across the NBA in offense productivity, I say that young teams like Philly and Indy have excelled to to the lockout while others like NY and Boston have struggled. Coincidence?
Older teams, teams with bigger changes, teams with bigger flaws, injuries, etc. – all that will get hit negatively by lockout. It’s no question why the Thunder/Bulls/Sixers are doing well. The Pacers did make some changes but they were minor – just integrating David West and he’s a baller. No coincidence.
Hey Eric, not to be a Kobe detractor since he did get us 5 titles, but do you think Kobe would be truly satisfied if the Lakers were to somehow win another championship but AB was the clear playoff and finals MVP averaging something like 30 pts/20 rebs/3 blks.
Kobe wants a ring first and foremost – as long as Bryant is getting his shots in too, he’d be fine. It’s Bynum who isn’t at that level.
Eric, your the Lakers GM, you have complete control of the organization, what moves do you make to improve the team?(can include coaching change)
Right now I sit tight and take the abuse.
Eric, your GM for the organization, what changes do you make to improve this team for now and the future (can include coach change)?
Right now I sit tight and take the abuse . . .
with all the talk about dw12 and dwill. why couldn’t the 76ers get both? amnisty on brand. sign dw12 to a 5 year deal. sign and trade jrue, iggy and a pick for dwill. it would work under the cap. whether it works for them is different. philly is a big market.
Time to chat once again, let’s dig right in.
Actually the Sixers could be in a very strong cap position this summer if they chose to amnesty Brand. The key is convincing both/either Howard/Williams to come. Some of these decisions are about economics, marketing and the like. That might put Philly at a disadvantage in this particular case but it’s certainly not impossible. While it’s a big market, it may not quite be LA, NY or .Dallas. You can argue Philly over Dallas but that doesn’t seem to be Howard’s mindset and I know Deron loves the idea of playing for the Mavs.
Wasn’t Mike Brown supposed to run some type of “Twin Tower” offense similar to the Duncan/Robinson days? Is that happening without execution or has that been scraped?
The Lakers are having their FIRST full contact practice of the season today. Crazy. A lot of that has to do with the schedule. I’m not entirely convinced that offense will work 100% anyway but he hasn’t had the chance to really put in what he intended offensively – Brown instead has spent a lot more effort coaching on the defensive side of the ball.
With the way K Martin is playing we would have to give up either Love or Rubio for him and that will happen. Which means that we need to look at either Ellis, Mayo (available) or N Young (Washington is looking to clean house). Again I would say Ellis first and would look to deal most everyone but Love and Rubio. I might even consider Williams but I would try to hold onto him if I could. I just don’t know who else we could get to help us? Do we offer Darko, Beaz Luke and the firsts from Utah and Memphis we have? For Ellis and a throw in????! Or go for Mayo/ Young and what would they cost? Could we get Javale and Young?
I wouldn’t go the Washington route . . . at all. At some point the Wolves have to cash out some of their assets up front and get a starting two-guard. I would say it’s time to be patient. I would expect the Grizzlies still shop Mayo although they’ve put out there that they may keep him through the season. I don’t have the answer yet for the Wolves but then neither do they. For now, Monta Ellis isn’t available but that too could change.
Mo Williams has been balling for the Clippers so who could they flip him for to get a starting 2 guard.
The Clippers aren’t looking for a starting two-guard, they need a backup three who can defend and possibly a reserve big with true size. Look around the league though – not a lot of teams have what LAC needs – and they won’t just dump off a quality player like Mo.
I know reports are saying likely Orlando keeps Dwight but really Orlando toughest part of their schedule is coming up in the month of February. How long is it before we hear rumors again Orlando is exploring a trade for Dwight and are the Lakers front runners for Dwight compare to what others on the market can offer?
The rumors will subside when they win and rage when they lose – but mostly it’s just noise. Gotta wait until after All-Star and see how the picture looks around that time.
And from your sources have your heard anything regarding any news on some trades that could be on the verge of happening or something is in the works regarding any team?
Teams are starting to get into trade mode but we’re still a week or so away before things really start to move. The Hawks are open to moving Hinrich if they can get some adequate size to replace Al Horford. Then again, they’ve played pretty well so they may need some time to see what they have – and to prove that Kirk is healthy. Clearly Stephen Jackson is available for a penny. There’s always OJ Mayo rumors, they seem to never die out. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Suns shop Hakim Warrick. I’m not sure who would want to take on Devin Harris. There’s a lot of potential for movement but then a lot of teams still figuring out what they have to work with.
Lakers offense….should it go back to triangle? is that even an option? seems like Pau keeps being asked to play and shoot shots just like Zydrunas Ilgauskas did with Cleveland. (Outside jumpers).
Going back to the triangle isn’t an option. This was a decision from ownership to move on and the result is the transition we see right now.
Where is Sasha?
Isn’t he in Turkey?
Hey Eric. Are the Knicks really counting on Baron Davis to help them turn their season around? did they not watch him last year?
Yep. I guess we’ll find out if motivation was a factor in LA or if it was just Baron’s body breaking down. Maybe a little of both but I think the latter was really the issue.
Unfortunately, I don’t have my Clips going to the finals this season. Should they make the playoffs, what will be the one thing the team will be looking to do in the offseason? Extend Blake?
The Clipper swill look to extend Blake as soon as they can. i anticipate a simple process – max money and a thank you, where do I sign from Griffin.
Hello from the Great White North! I just have one question…. What is going on in Lakerland?!? This looks bad, really bad… Any deals you can see on the horizon? Thanks
Thanks Jason – no, I don’t see LA rushing into a deal. They need help, I don’t think that’s arguable – but whatever they do need to take into account the bigger picture items – Howard, Deron, etc.
Have you heard the trade Chris Broussard suggested for the Clippers? Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan for Dwight Howard and Ryan Anderson?! Could you please agree with the Clipper fans and tell us this is a crazy trade!
The Clippers aren’t trading Griffin for Howard or anyone in the league. I’ve read articles saying experts around the league say this and that, but those experts, if they don’t work for the Clippers, are only giving their opinion. LAC is invested in Blake and not eying Howard.
Clips vs. Lakers tomorrow. Who wins round two and why?
I’ll go Lakers given the uncertainty with Chris Paul and his hamstring. Even if he’s back, is he 100%? Although the Lakers have been playing poorly lately, I expect them to turn it around a little bit.
Do you still think the Clippers are trying to make a move or do you think they’re happy with how they’re built?
They’re happy but as I mentioned, a perimeter defender and backup size wouldn’t hurt. At some point they need to work in Bledsoe and see if he can take on Williams’ role.
What do you think of a Pau Gasol for Jrue Holiday/Elton Brand trade? Who would do it or not do it?
Don’t love it for LA but if you want to argue it helps them get out of the second big contract (outside of Kobe) by 2013, and you add a nice young point guard . . . but it sounds fanciful. Aren’t the Sixers playing quite well? Why go that route? Equally, isn’t there a better way somewhere for LA to get a pg than giving up Pau and taking on Brand? Maybe not but feels like a reach.
I’m a huge Laker fan and I watch every game, but I’m trying to understand why does it look like beside Kobe and McRoberts no one is giving their full effort every night?
More games than just about anyone in the league, older, slower – expected.
WHY DONT THE LAKERS OFFER GASOL N BYNUM FOR D12 TURK NELSON THEY GET A DECENT POINT GUARD AND THE BEST CENTER IN THE NBA AND MAYBE CAN GET RASHEED WALLACE OR KENYON MARTIN TO PLAY ALONG SIDE D12 NELSON KOBE TURK MARTIN/WALLACE D12?
Maybe lay off the caps lock.
hey Mr pincus Do the clippers have a good chance on being top 6 in the pacific.. i bet 100 they can.. Plz Lie to me! jk
I’m not betting but absolutely.
With the Warriors having difficulties staying healthy, and finding consistency from the center and small forward position. Anything in the immediate plans to change? a trade or signing
Warriors have to be opportunistic but that may mean waiting. I want to see what Monta/Curry looks like under Jackson but we haven’t really had a chance to see that yet. I didn’t think they really improved much over the offseason although I like Brandon Rush.
Why do so many sports writers feel that Andrew Bynum is an ideal fit for Orlando when Bynum’s contract situation is just a year removed from Dwight’s? Wouldn’t it just create a spectacle of somewhat lesser degree next year, something Orlando would want to shy away from?
Perhaps but Bynum isn’t the guy teams will move mountains to acquire like a Howard.
Couple things, any word on Eric Gordon’s knee? If it is serious, obviously that hurts his value, would he be open to return to Clipper Nation for a lower dollar contract?
I am a big Clipper fan, but it kills me when Blake complains on no-calls, because he doesn’t get back on D. Am I the only one that sees this?
Gordon is looking for max money. His knee will be fine in a couple of weeks.
The Lakers are in real trouble aren’t they?
Yes and no. . .
If you were Mitch Kupchak, would you trade Bynum + Gasol for Dwight Howard?
Not right now I wouldn’t, no. Down the road if I felt it was right, I’d consider it – currently I don’t but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t be swayed closer to the deadline.
is it just me or would a phil jackson offense be horrible in NY. Stat is not nearly the passer that Gasol is. Thoughts
The roster would have to continue to change. Between Amar’e and Melo, passing is an issue in general.
Sasha is in Melbourne watching the Australian Open ofcourse.
Ah, I should have known.
So…3 losses in a row…is it too early to panic in a Lakerland?
It’s never too early to panic.
We Really need a PG and the best PG left is Deron Williams, so if we dont get him before the trade deadline that means we aint getting him at all right cause we have no cap space via FA?
Sign and trade a possibility over the summer.
Reading your chats throught years, I always kinda felt that you were more Clipper than a Laker guy…am I right?
Neither. I’m just covering the stories. I dedicate the same energy to both – and the other 28 – except that they are my home market in LA so I naturally have better access. If I get more on record from Clippers, that’s perhaps from longevity and years covering the team when there weren’t as many reporters knocking down doors (while there’s always a hundred trying to cover the Lakers).
do you see bulls making a trade to find a replacement of deng for the time he is out? any thoughts?
This is a team that still needed a combo guard, perhaps they continue to look around on that front. I know three weeks is a lot this season but he’s really back by then – you don’t change course because of three weeks,
Will Filp Saunders get another job as head coach after the somewhat ugly ends to his last two stints?
Eventually he may resurface. It’s not like what went down in Washington was because of Flip. He didn’t solve the problems but he didn’t cause them either.
Although Howard has a wish list he want to play for, shouldnt the Magic make the best trade in their best interest? I dont think the Mavs, Lakers or Nets can come up with a package that is attractive. Why not contact the Pacers about Hibbert and George, or TWolves about Love and Rubio, or Grizzles about Gasol and Gay?
Wolves won’t give up those kind of pieces – neither will the Grizzlies, because you lose your stars and then Howard walks in free agency a few months later.
Man I have not confidence that the lakers will land howard. Please tell the laker fans to stop it.
Wait, are you saying they will or wont? Bottom line to me – they have a shot – and it’s in their best interest to pursue that shot until it expires or hits the mark.
Scola & Williams to LAL, KMart to LAC, Gasol to HOU. Seems reasonable for all, yes?
Not to Lakers, not to Clippers and maybe not to Rockets anymore either – although if you want to argue for one it’d be Houston.
I just dont like it when teams trade players away its business, and when players ask for trade its lack of loyalty. I really hate it. I really hate it when teams or players made it public they want to make a trade. It demotivate the players, and create tension in the team. I think the league should fine either the team or the player if they made a public statement about trades.
Hmm, I would say more than 50-60% of moves are financial based. It’s part of the business of the NBA. There would be no Miami threesome without that. There would be no Pau/Kobe. Shaq would never have come to the Lakers. You can say, “Well good,” but that’s the way things are. I don’t try to fight things like that – but embrace the system and learn to enjoy it for what it is.
Biggest factors hurting the lakers. Tell me what they are and put these in order. Talent, age, schedule, injuries, bynum just not that good, kobe shoots to much. Thanks.
Age, schedule, injuries, talent, Bynum, Kobe.
Winner of the finals will be the hardest of any championship that a nba has won. With the schedule, no practice time and no training camp. But still deserves an asterik? Agree?
I’m not a big asterisk guy – too hard to spell.
From sources you heard regarding Dwight Howard trade options to he wants to be dealt to who has the best pieces to really acquire from highest to lowest? Lakers? Mavericks? Nets? or a dark horse like the Clippers or Knicks?
Easiest = Nets in free agency with Williams re-signing. Lakers in sign and trade – or midseason trade. Dallas has a dark horse shot but the number of moves they’d have to make – plus asking both Howard and Deron to take paycuts – suggests to me it may not work and that Dallas instead just tries to get Deron.
I don’t see Clippers or Knicks though NY has to be considered if they offer Amar’e/Chandler though would that really appeal to Orlando? LAC won’t offer Griffin for Howard so if they want a DeAndre Jordan package, then perhaps . . .
I know it would be hard for laker fans to take. But getting in the lottery and possibly trading for another lottery pick might be the lakers best chance to build for future. I just don’t see the lakers getting howard in a trade.
I don’t think they can trade for another lottery pick but I hear you.
Bynum injured, tired or not enough touches. Started off well but slowed of late.
All of the above.
I don’t know how much he can help. But if kobe wants howard and some more championships. It is best that he help bynum play well. Bynum playing well is the best chance for the lakers to get howard. Even if they have to give up pau. Agree?
There’s not much help Kobe can give. The Lakers have such poor outside shooting that getting the ball inside is a problem, regardless of Kobe’s quick trigger finger.
The Pacers are a buyer – they either spend money on salary or send in a check to the league for not hitting the floor. Keep an eye on Indy and what they do. I find them to be one of the more fascinating teams this year. By far the best team in the league per dollar of salary spent on payroll.
Ha, just another year – not much different than any other.
This will have to do for the week. Once again, thanks for participating!
I’m with you. Waiting is really the best avenue. I like to break down the legal possibilities but in the end even the teams don’t know what they’ll be able to get done. That’s part of the fun of the NBA . . .
