is there any way that the bulls could pull off a deal for garnett and ray allen. the bulls send asik or taj gibson along with their 1st rounder, the charlotte pick they have, Nikola Mirotic and carlos boozer, ronnie brewer and CJ watson? the celtics could send watson to LA for their 1st this year leading to 3 1st rounders and a first round talent in mirotic to go along with a starting 5 of rondo, brewer, pierce, boozer and asik which could still lock down the 8 spot. the bulls dont want to shake up the chemistry, but what two players would fit in better than those 2 who already know thibs’ system

    • Susan Bible

Am I following you…Garnett and Allen for, Asik or Gibson, their first-round pick, Mirotic, Boozer, Brewer and Watson? Surely you meant “or”, not “and” in places. In any case, I can’t see Chicago giving up this much for two aging players in Allen (who turns 37 in July and will be a free agent) and Garnett (who turns 36 in May).

  2. alan

can the bulls trade omer Asik and Kyle Korver to portland for Jamal Crawford and Kurt Thomas? Portland gets a young big an expiring deal. bulls get scoring and a tough veteran who knows the team and fits in.

    • Susan Bible

I understand Chicago isn’t feeling Crawford.

  3. Bill

Thunder trade Mohammed and Jackson to Bobcats for Augustin and R. Williams. Thunder get backups for Westbrook and Durant and Bobcats more salary dump?

    • Susan Bible

I like it. OKC needs a better backup PG solution as they look toward the playoffs. Of course, it would mean Aldrich has to be ready. And the Bobcats continue the salary dump path.

  4. Benny

since the knicks r playin the bucks tonite, what do u think of a lin for jennings trade?

    • Susan Bible

In my wildest dreams, I can’t see the Knicks getting rid of Lin at this point.

  5. Gasper

    hey,
what else is there on the table for the HEAT…Kaman, R.Wallace…could the wizzards maybe trade Javale Mcgee (to them) ?

    • Susan Bible

Miami did just work out Rasheed Wallace. They are interested in Kaman should the Hornets elect to buy him out, but can they pay him? The Wizards want to include Blatche in any McGee deal – Miami will pass on that. Fesenko perhaps?

  6. knicks fan

d’antoni doesnt utilize the roster properly since tyson is injured his starting line up should look like this(this is the best sarting lineup because they have size at evry postion but they can run amare and melo jus have to defend)

    lin davis
    shumpert smith
    fields novak
    melo harrelson
    amare

    • Susan Bible

Last night, D’Antoni followed your advice except for starting Smith over Shumpert…and it didn’t work out so well.

How U Doin’ Susan.. I Think You’d Agree That Coach Brooks Has Done A Good Job With These Young Guys…. So Why Are Presti/Ownership Stalling For… They Should’ve Extended Him As Soon As The Lockout Was Over… Thoughts??

    • Susan Bible

Doing great here, Lady Killer! I would agree that Brooks is doing a good job this season. It’s hard to argue with a current 31-9 record. He’s been challenged with the Thabo Sefolosha injury and losing Eric Maynor, and has tinkered with rotations with more frequency than he did last year. Still scratching my head over Brooks sitting Ibaka in the fourth quarter last night which allowed Irving to wrap it up late, once again.

Not too long ago, Presti said something along the lines of (and I’m paraphrasing here) “Everybody knows how we feel about Scott” and “We hope he stays here for many years to come.”

History tells us Presti favors addressing these things after the season ends. He removed Brooks’ interim tag on the last day of the season in 2009 (he wore the interim tag for months before that), and his extension was announced shortly after OKC lost in the first round vs. the Lakers in 2010. Brooks’ agent suggested talks may not occur until after this season. I’m not too concerned.

Are the Thunder going after Dwight?

What do you do with the Jazz, if you are KOC?

    • Susan Bible

No way. In fact, someone jokingly proposed to Scott Brooks last night that the Thunder trade Harden and Ibaka for Howard. That suggestion was met with a you’ve-got-to-be-kidding smile… then he said “Oh, so it went through?” That was met with a gaggle of laughter.

Given the fact Utah is taking a long-term approach in building in this post-Deron Williams era, KOC isn’t going to try to pull off a shocker. He remains open to trading Devin Harris and/or C.J. Miles. For now, keep testing rotations, let your youngsters develop, be patient and make sound decisions in the upcoming deep draft. The Jazz are 19-19; they’ve won four of the last six games played.

Assume you were at Thunder/Cavs game tonight. Did you get to talk to Byron Scott at all? I saw somewhere that you were a fan of Kyrie Irving. What is it about him that gets your attention?

    • Susan Bible

I did cover the Thunder/Cavs game Friday night. I was particularly looking forward to meeting Kyrie Irving, and sure enough, I did have a really nice pre-game conversation with him in the locker room. I’ve been intrigued with him all season for several reasons: his maturity…especially for a 19-year-old rookie, his confidence, his crazy-good shooting percentage (.480), his ability to play at the rim (given he’s just 6’3” at 180 lbs) and his clutch play. I found him personable and very intelligent. I was also among the media scrum who flocked around Byron Scott. He was great – straight forward on every topic and engaging with an easy laugh.

  10. Deven

Was tonight’s game the final time Boston fans have seen the Big 4?

    • Susan Bible

No, I don’t believe that; in fact, I don’t think they make much noise by the trade deadline.

  11. Glen

Do you think there is a chance ORL can add SJAX and UDrih. I think those two would be considered upgrades and ORL has something to offer back.

    • Susan Bible

It’s possible. Jackson and Howard are mutual admirers.

  12. Gasper

    hi :)
do you see Norris Cole nd Mike Miller for Arron Aflalo nd Mozgov?

    • Susan Bible

Admittedly, the Nuggets need a three-point guy, but Miller isn’t the guy and they don’t want to give up Afflalo.

  13. Frank

The Bruce Bowen type role was a great niche carved out on the championship San Antonio Spurs teams. Which player best fits this role in the NBA today and which young player could you see developing into this role for his career?

    • Susan Bible

Speaking of San Antonio, Popovich is holding out hope that Kawhi Leonard can develop into a Bruce Bowen type. Could DeAndre Liggins develop?

I guess Tony Allen and World Peace are the modern-day Bowen types.

  14. geneticray in detroit

paul gasol to houston for scola, dragic, williams and a pick should get a deal done givin up lowry should not be even considered if ur the rockets. whats ur thoughts.

    • Susan Bible

I’m not giving up Lowry if I’m the Rockets GM. Sure seems like talk about Gasol to Houston – however he gets there – are ongoing.

  15. Kahari young

Hey Susan I’m a big fan of your chats ! Was the magic actually interested in a James harden and serge Ibaka for Dwight Howard trade? Is there any chance that iverson will come back to the nba?!

    • Susan Bible

Thanks! That’s just a fun and baseless rumor. The latest I’ve heard on Iverson is that he is willing to play in the D-League in hopes of attracting an NBA team.

  16. mat

Would either Indiana or Sacramento be interested in a Tyreke for Granger swap?

  17. jack

is there a Laker trade looming?

    • Susan Bible

Surely so…it’s got to involve them ending up with a sound point guard.

Thanks for dropping in this morning. See you again next week…same place/same time!
