   hey yannis this is theory of knicks roster and who gets the most minutes @ the position

   pg:billups,shumpert,rautins
   sg:fields,shumpert,walker
   sf:melo,walker,brown
   pf:amare,williams,harrelson
   c:turiaf,birdman,jordan

   i assume the knicks will trade toney douglas for either a wing to back up melo or another big if they dnt sign josh harrelson and jerome jordan is not getting minutes any problems with this setup?

     Welcome everyone to this week’s chat. Let’s get right to the questions.

     Looks pretty close at this point to me. I would say that Shumpert primarily plays at the one, though, based on the fact that that’s where they want him to play long-term. Maybe he does play some two out of need just so he can get more minutes. I don’t have any problems, its a team that can make some noise in the East. They’re still another piece and some depth away from being a contender, but still a very, very good team in my eyes.

     Portland isn’t giving up Batum for Ed Davis, who plays the same position as their best player LaMarcus Aldridge.

   Yannis,

   in the last lockout did games start Jan 6th or did the NBA and NBPA come to agreement on Jan 6th that led to games starting on Feb 6th? If there isnt any movement on negotiations by mid December would you say the season is lost?

   • Yannis Koutroupis

     They came to an agreement on the 6th of January that led to games starting a month later in February. And I think that’s fair to say. I don’t have much hope for a season right now. If there’s no movement in a month I won’t be any more optimistic.

   The only good thing about this lockout Minne’s pick and the Clippers. Having a season and having Rubio + Adelman will only hurt the pick. At least I will have something to look forward too next year. Hopefully a top 3 pick in a loaded draft and cap space for a big FA. What do you think the Clippers do FA and draft wise

     I wouldn’t bank on that too much yet. If there’s no season they’re not just going to pick in the same order they did last year. I’m not sure how they’re going to do it, actually. Heck, if there’s no CBA there can’t even be a draft. This whole thing needs to get sorted out in order for the Clippers to see the benefits of that pick. I think they’re main concern right now is the SF position, while PG and inside depth are secondary.

   Hey Yannis whats your predictions for UNLV this year in some College Basketball do you have them making it to the top 64 come march madness

   • Yannis Koutroupis

     I’ll feel better about answering this question after seeing how they fair in their big non-conference games. They’ve got some talent, but a new head coach and sometimes it takes awhile to adjust to all the new things brought to the table. I think they certainly have a chance to make it, though.

   Is UCLA’s start for real or will they bounce back and contend for a Pac 12 title

     This is going to be my last one folks!

     I really thought this was the year that they were going to win the league. They definitely have the talent, but this poor start is alarming. With good teams like California, Oregon and Washington around it’s hard to have the same kind of confidence in UCLA winning the Pac 12. Since it’s still very early, I’ll stick to my guns and keep faith that Ben Howland can get them back on track.
