Sorry to ask you this.. I will tune up forward for 2014 NBA Draft for this time. Some analysts may say that they are bunch of great talents will characterize those draft class..

Now, here is my query.. Is there a possibility for Lakers to place in possible 1st round draft?? I never heard in the news that they gave that future pick to other teams. For me, that would be great for them..

    • Yannis Koutroupis

Welcome everyone to this week’s chat!

Their picks are gone for the next couple of years. They’d have to acquire one in a trade.

Hi Yannis. Share your thoughts on this trade
    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=b3zcvv9
The lakers get rid of Gasol and get love plus they get a young solid center and don’t have to worry about their contract extentions

    • Yannis Koutroupis

Lakers say no. Too much talent going out, even if they don’t play well together.

  3. Randy

what is the draft prospects of Matthew Dellavedova of Saint Mary’s

  4. LayHee in the House

In a recent Hoopsworld article, Alex Kennedy suggests a correlation between the hiring of John Hollinger by the Grizzlies (inventory of PER) and the team’s willingness to part with Rudy Gay. Despite being a border line all-star, Gay has a poor PER rating (5th on Grizz and 140th league wide). This line of reasoning makes a whole lot of sense, as a proponent of PER would have difficulty paying a player in excess of 17-18 mill a year who has less than a league average rating. Would you personally agree with Alex’s assessment? And do you believe there is a trading partner out there willing to part with young players / picks for Gay in the hopes a new scenery will change the player for the better. Your thoughts.

Bucks won in Phoenix for the first time in almost 26 years? Did you know that?

  6. guy from the furture

Do u believe me that rob sacre will be the next m.gortat?

  7. Ren Jävier

Greetings from Mexico! If the Lakers agreed to take back Bargniani and Fields’ bad contracts as well, could they swing a Gasol for Lowry deal? It might benefit both teams and at this point, the Lakers are better served looking to the future… Lowry + DH12

    • Yannis Koutroupis

Don’t think the Lakers would do that. They’re trying to cut costs to build around Dwight in the future.

  8. Justin

Jazz trade Al Jefferson, Burks for Lowery, Bargnani?

    • Yannis Koutroupis

I think Toronto passes because they don’t want to give up Kyle.

  9. Justin

Have you heard any Jazz rumors? Us Jazz fanz live for that stuff, just never get it.

    • Yannis Koutroupis

They’re real quiet right now, I don’t have anything concrete.

  10. Zach

As a high school basketball coach I find it astonishing that mike d can not figure out an offense or set of sets that takes advantage of having two skilled 7ft post players. You see no California cuts (block to block screen), high post flashes from the opposite block to create hi-lo’s or anything with both bigs around the basket. I understand the league has become a dribble-drive space the floor with shooters offensive league but do some coaching( adjusting) to your talent. Last night Gasol had Shane Battier on him in the 4th and they did not post Gasol up once!! Maybe it’s time to pull some old SA tape of the Robinson/Duncan era! Am I missing something here with having both bigs around the basket some of the time? I know it kills driving lanes but their offensive Rebs would be off the charts!

    • Yannis Koutroupis

Lack of spacing I think is the big thing. D’Antoni’s always been accustomed to having that four man out on the perimeter.

  11. jaimeson

Is there any effects that a player who has played in Denvers altitude for many years & gets traded closer to sea level might feel? better conditioned maybe? or just a sigh of relief?

  12. John Collins

How do you like this trade?

Boston Celtics get Pau Gasol and a second round draft pick. LA Lakers get Jeff Green and Courtney Lee (assume that other pieces will also be moved to make the trade work financially).

  13. Beau

What can Houston do to combine assets to get a high quality post player? The Jazz stand out as obvious trade partners, but they don’t really have a need for young, promising PF types that Houston has to offer.

  14. Chris

The Magic will most certain trade JJ. Who do you see as the most likely trade partner?

  15. kurt

any chance the Jazz could go after Bledsoe? do they have the assets to do it?

    • Yannis Koutroupis

He’d be great, but I think that would require them giving up something they don’t want to.

  16. Steve

Hey Yannis, The Bucks have a number of bigs that aren’t playing much like Dalembert, Gooden, and Pryzbilla, do you see John Hammond making a move? Also what do you think Monta’s trade value is?

    • Yannis Koutroupis

Oh yeah, definitely. Like I said last year, you don’t let your coach go when you have a roster full of untouchables. Monta’s value is high, I could see him moving.

  17. Danny Two Step

    Yannis the Manis,

any rumors on my precious Nugz? Maybe they’re thinking of trading Mozgov and/or Chandler? Let me know about deez nugz.

    • Yannis Koutroupis

I’ve heard about them being available, but not much on who they’d bring back.

  18. Jason

If Granger comes back healthy could you see a Granger for Josh Smith trade?

  19. Mike

I hear from basketball experts Shabazz Muhammad is not a one in generation player. Why’s that so?He seemed incredible talent in high school and in the All-American game.I thought he would be “the next LeBron”.What do U think,Yannis?

    • Yannis Koutroupis

I think he’s a fringe number one option who is best off as a number two.

  20. Mike

Do U think the HEAT can land Mozgov or center of his caliber before the Deadline?

  21. Costas

Do you see any contenting team make an offer for Koufos. His stats per 48min are very lucrative and his salary is very low. I think it will be an ideal upgrade for the hits at 5

    • Yannis Koutroupis

Definitely, he’s liable to be moved.

I’m out guys. See you next week!
