Nets ink F Williams to one-year deal

The New Jersey Nets signed forward Shelden Williams to a one-year contract.

Williams split last season between the New York Knicks and Denver Nuggets, averaging 4.5 points and 4.6 rebounds.

A first-round pick in the 2006 draft, Williams will be joining his seventh team in six seasons.

He has averaged 4.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in his career.
