Outlining a plan with the goal of reaching the playoffs in the last season in New Jersey, (Nets general manager Billy) King said the Nets will have plenty of cap space he’s not afraid to use it, specifically on frontcourt players.

King said he will offer Deron Williams a two-year contract extension worth roughly $40 million whenever it’s allowed by the CBA rules. That should be coming up shortly. He could also opt-out and re-sign with the Nets for five years, $100 million.

King, who has been in contact with Williams’ agent, wouldn’t comment on how he felt the offer would be received, saying he would have to see all the rules of the CBA first.
