The Brooklyn Nets have waived forwards James Mays and Carleton Scott to reduce their roster to 15 for the start of the 2012-13 season.

Mays appeared in two preseason games for the Nets and totaled six points with four rebounds. Scott registered nine points and 10 rebounds in three games.

The Nets open the season in their new home next Thursday against the New York Knicks.
