No.19 Michigan beats No. 6 Ohio St.
Jordan Morgan notched his first career double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds as the No. 19 Michigan Wolverines defeated the No. 6 Ohio State Buckeyes 56-51 to remain unbeaten at home. Trey Burke added a team-high 17 points for Michigan (20-7, 10-4 Big Ten), which improved to 15-0 at the Crisler Center. The victory also moved the Wolverines into a tie with Ohio State (22-5, 10-4) for second place in the conference, a half-game behind Big Ten leader Michigan State, while avenging a 15-point road loss to the Buckeyes last month. After Michigan matched its biggest advantage of the game for the third and final time at 42-32 with 11:42 remaining, Jared Sullinger and Deshaun Thomas combined to score the final 19 points for the Buckeyes as Ohio State cut the lead to three points on four different occasions. But after trimming the lead to 54-51 on a pair of free throws from Aaron Craft with 43 seconds remaining, the Buckeyes chose not to foul and Burke made them pay with a short runner near with 14 seconds left to close the door on Ohio State. Thomas posted his first career double-double with 25 points and a career-high 14 rebounds for the Buckeyes, who fell to 5-4 against ranked opponents this season.
