No. 5 Florida routs Florida State 72-47
by Jim Henry, USA TODAY Sports
The FSU men’s basketball team fell behind early and never recovered during a humbling 72-47 loss to rival Florida on Wednesday night.
The Seminoles (4-4) have now lost three straight games. Each of their four losses have come at the Civic Center.
FSU committed 21 turnovers, leading to 30 Gator points.
Michael Snaer was the only Seminole in double figures with 10 points. Okaro White and Devon Bookert each added 9.
The fifth-ranked Gators had four players score in double figures, topped by Kenny Boynton and Mike Rosario with 14 points each.
Perhaps the lone highlight for the Seminoles was the presence of Andrew Wiggins, the No. 1 recruit in the country. Wiggins attended the game with his parents and former FSU star athletes Michell Wiggins and Marita Payne-Wiggins, who were honored at halftime.
Henry also writes for the Tallahassee Democrat.
