No Buyout Demand for Corey Maggette

Swingman Corey Maggette , despite having not played in the past two months, said he hasn’t thought about approaching the team for a buyout so he could seek employment with a playoff team.

“No, not at all,” Maggette said when asked. “I don’t even know how it works.”

If Maggette and the Pistons negotiate a buyout of the remainder of his $10.2 million contract by March 23, he could jump on with a championship contender as opposed to sitting and rotting on the Pistons — he hasn’t played since Dec. 15.

“Hmm. No, I haven’t thought about it,” Maggette said. “I like management here and I’m still able to help the young guys, that’s been my MO with this season.”
