Nowitzki, Mavericks to play in Berlin

The Dallas Mavericks will be among the teams competing in the NBA’s annual European preseason tour later this year.

The Dallas Morning News, citing two sources, said the Mavericks are scheduled to play two games prior to next season.

One of them will be played in Berlin and serve as a homecoming for Dallas star forward Dirk Nowitzki. The other game is scheduled for Barcelona.

Nowitzki was named to his 11th consecutive NBA All-Star team Thursday and reached the pinnicle of his career last season, being named the NBA Finals MVP in leading the Mavericks to the league championship.
