Nowitzki Surprised by Rubio’s NBA Success

After watching Ricky Rubio play international basketball for Spain, Dirk Nowitzki didn’t think the flashy point guard had a chance to be successful in the NBA.

But the Minnesota Timberwolves point guard has turned into one of the NBA’s top rookies this season.

“I’ve been watching him for seven years in Eurpoe,” Nowitzki said. “I didn’t think he was going to have that much of an impact in the NBA.

“But they’ve actually surrounded him with more pieces here and it’s really helped his game.’
