Nuggets C Nene out for Friday, maybe longer
The Denver Nuggets will be without the services of their top rebounder Nene for Friday’s game against the Washington Wizards. Head coach George Karl announced that the forward is being held out the lineup for precautionary reasons to rest his lingering left heel strain. Karl also said, that the big man could possibly be held out of the lineup for Saturday’s tilt with the New York Knicks.Nene, who averages 13.5 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.2 assist per game, already has missed three games with the injury.The Nuggets re-signed Nene as a free agent during the offseason to a five-year, $65 million deal.
