Denver Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson has signed to play with a team in Lithuania. Lawson told the Denver Point that he agreed Sunday to play for Zalgiris Kaunas. Former Nuggets teammate Sonny Weems also plays for the club. The 23-year-old Lawson said he would return to the Nuggets when the NBA lockout ends. “It’s the best situation for me to go out there,” Lawson said. “Being at home, I’m not saying I’m a lazy person, but I want to be in the gym. And plus, it’s a new experience going out to Lithuania, so why not? It was a no-brainer.” Lawson averaged 11.7 points and 4.7 assists last season with Denver. He was elevated to starting point guard after Chauncey Billups was sent to New York in the Carmelo Anthony trade.
