Nuggets Won’t Overreact to Bad Losses

It was the second consecutive game the Nuggets thought they had a victory in hand … and then didn’t.

But as the 17-15 team approaches the halfway point of the season, there is pretty much no panic — least of all in (Masai) Ujiri, who is keeping a cool head about the state of the Nuggets in the wake of three straight losses and defeats in eight of 10 games. The Nuggets are 3-11 in February and now on the outside looking in at the Western Conference playoff race.

“February was a tough month for us,” Ujiri said. “We saw it coming. The injuries made it worse. But every team is going through it. There’s no excuses. I think we were a little overrated. We started fast, which is good, but it’s a growing year for us. We hope to get over the injuries and get on track.”
