NY Knicks (Finally) Acquire Carmelo Anthony
After an exhausting weekend, that capped a fatiguing months-long negation process which drained all involved – the New York Knicks finally got their man, and Carmelo Anthony finally got the team he apparently wanted all along.
The Denver Post is reporting that the deal has been finalized: "The Nuggets traded Melo to the New York Knicks tonight, a league source said. Denver gets Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov, the Knicks 2014 first-round draft pick, the Warriors’ 2012 second-round pick, the Warriors’ 2013 second-round pick and $3 million in cash.
"Anthony will go to New York, along with Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman."
As part of the deal, New York will also send Eddy Curry and Anthony Randolph to the Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota will send Corey Brewer to the Nuggets Knicks.
More on the fallout from the trade, and an examination of how it impacts both teams, to follow shortly. Stay tuned to HOOPSWORLD.com for updates…
Update: Denver will also receive Kosta Koufos and send a 2015 second-round pick to the Wolves.
