University of Oklahoma guard Steven Pledger has been suspended for the team’s season opener against Idaho State on Friday.

Pledger will have to sit out the game for failing to properly register for a pro-am game in the summer – an NCAA violation.

The 6-foot-4 shooting guard will be reinstated for Oklahoma’s second game against Coppin State on Nov. 18.

Pledger made 26 starts and averaged 10.9 points for the Sooners last season.
