The Oklahoma State women’s basketball team won its first game since coach Kurt Budke and assistant Miranda Serna were killed in a plane crash.
The Cowgirls beat Coppin State 59-35 on Saturday, nine days after the crash in Arkansas.
Members of the team stood arm in arm and sang the school’s alma mater along with the crowd following the win. Players and interim coach Jim Littell then went to hug Budke’s wife and parents in the stands.
Oklahoma St. had postponed a pair of home games last week following the crash.
