There were no players shooting the lights out of the gym during Mississippi’s game against Arkansas, but there was a brief power outage at C.M. ‘Tad’ Smith Coliseum in Saturday’s game at Oxford, Miss., according to several media members covering the game.

The lights apparently went out with 5:37 left in the first half and Arkansas leading 24-21. Ole Miss led 34-26 at halftime.

One tweet read: “#SECBasketballFever was so bad at Ole Miss/Arkansas, they pulled the plug on it. #lightsout”

The game was televised on SEC Network and led many viewers to voice their distaste with a delay in the game for several minutes.

Coincidentally, a similar power outage happened during an Ole Miss-Arkansas football game in 2007.
