The Indiana Pacers are expected to release swingman Sam Young today. This is a result of Young severely spraining his ankle, which will keep him out several weeks, just days before contracts become guaranteed.

The Pacers will likely sign a player after Monday when teams can sign players to 10-day contracts. One possibility that the Pacers might look into is forward Dominic McGuire, who was released by the New Orleans Hornets on Friday. McGuire is known for his defensive ability and effort, somthing the Pacers need with Young being released and forward Danny Granger still out from injury.
