Patrick Ewing Jr. signs with Spanish team
MADRID (AP) – Patrick Ewing Jr., son and namesake of the New York Knicks great, has signed with Spanish club Blancos de Rueda Valladolid until the end of this season.
The 28-year-old Ewing arrives from German team Telekon Bonn where he played the first half of the 2012-13 campaign.
Ewing, like his father, played at Georgetown University before being drafted by the Sacramento Kings in 2008. Spending most of his career in the NBA’s developmental league, he made seven appearances for the New Orleans Hornets in 2010-11.
Valladolid is 14th in the 18-team Spanish league.
Ewing senior was a member of the United States’ “Dream Team” that won the gold medal in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.
