Pistons Agree Defense, Teamwork Missing
You can see it in his face. Pistons coach Lawrence Frank is attempting to do a delicate balancing act of firmly getting his point across without going off the deep end. Yet, there are lines of frustration he cannot hide.
He wants to return to the golden days of Pistons basketball where defense and teamwork ruled the court. He gets it in spurts from his team but the spurts are so miniscule that it hardly registers in the big picture. The Pistons (2-6) lack in the two things he wants most: team defense and teamwork.
“We are trying to bring back Pistons basketball back to the way fans appreciate,” Frank said. “Hard work and team first. Figure out who and what is part of the solution. That’s what we need to do to continue.”
Players have a common theme when asked what they want the Pistons to become.
“Hard work and defense,” (Jonas) Jerebko said. “It definitely starts with the defense.”
