Pistons’ Drummond Making Immediate Impact

Detriot Pistons rookie center Andre Drummond is overcoming expectations so far in his career with the Pistons. Drummond was supposed to be a project when the Pistons took him No. 9 overall in the 2012 NBA Draft, instead, he has made an immediate impact for the Pistons and is showing he deserves playing time among the Pistons’ young squad while averaging 7 points per game, 7.3 rebounds per game and 1.5 blocks per game.

Drummond wasn’t supposed to start contributing at a high level for at least a few seasons. In fact, the 19-year-old was supposed to be incredibly raw entering the league. However, he has been great for the Pistons this season and leads the rookie class in plenty of important categories.

Drummond leads all rookies in rebounds, blocks and field goal percentage. He also leads all rookies in several advanced stats including Player Efficiency Rating (PER), Estimated Wins Added (EWA), Value Added (VA) and Rebounding Rate (REBR).
