AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Six Pistons scored in double figures in tonight’s 99-85 win over the Bulls, snapping Chicago’s 18-game winning streak over Detroit.
Brandon Knight scored 20 points for the Pistons, who beat the Bulls for the first time since Dec. 23, 2008. Jonas Jerebko added 17 points and nine rebounds off the bench. Rodney Stuckey, starting for the injured Jose Calderon, had 14 points. Charlie Villaneva had 12 points, Greg Monroe added 11 and rookie Khris Middleton scored 10.
Detroit shot 53% (39-for-73) and made 9 of 18 three-pointers. The Pistons outrebounded the Bulls, 40-33.
Carlos Boozer led Chicago with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Nate Robinson scored 18 and Jimmy Butler added 14. Joakim Noah, in his first game back after a foot injury, had 13 points.
The Pistons led, 50-46, at halftime. Detroit shot 50% in the first half. The Pistons slowly increased their halftime lead to double digits thanks to Stuckey and Knight, who scored the first 15 points of the quarter. Boozer’s driving layup as the period expired cut the lead to 75-67.
But the Pistons poured it on in the fourth. Jerebko scored six points in the first half of the period, the last two coming on a Will Bynum steal and pass ahead for a dunk, to give Detroit an 85-71 lead with 6:37 to go.
The Bulls tried to cut into the lead, but a rebound tip slam by Charlie Villanueva, followed by an eventual Stuckey steal and pass ahead for Jerebko for another dunk made it 91-78 with 2:47 remaining.
The Pistons got Bynum back after missing the last few games with a hand injury. He had four points and five assists in 17 minutes.
Among the players out for the Bulls included All-Star Derrick Rose, former Piston Richard Hamilton and All-Star Luol Deng.
