Pistons’ Frank: ‘No one should feel safe’
The Pistons have four players who will become free agents in Jose Calderon, Jason Maxiell, Will Bynum and Corey Maggette. Rookie Kim English’s contract for next season is non-guaranteed.
Rodney Stuckey’s $8.5 million contract for 2013-14 can be bought out for $4 million. Viacheslov Kravtsov’s $1.5 contract can be bought out for $500,000. Charlie Villanueva’s $8.58 million contract is the only one on the team that’s amnesty-eligible.
“To me, there are no guarantees,” (Pistons coach Lawrence) Frank said. ”When you’ve won the amount of games that we’ve won, I don’t care who you are, no one should feel safe. Me as coach, player. … There shouldn’t be a player on the roster with a record like we are who thinks, ‘Oh, I’m here next year.’ Well, we only one ‘X’ amount of games.”
