Popovich High On Utah’s Dennis Lindsey

On the subject of former Spurs assistant general manager Dennis Lindsey, who left the franchise this summer to become general manager of the Utah Jazz, Popovich almost couldn’t stop talking.

“Dennis is a gem,” he said. “We warmed up to him very quickly when he realized he wasn’t just intelligent. He’s got a great way about him, he’s very even-keeled. He thinks both in the short term and the long term, and really understands the game. It’s great to have someone in management who understands the game like coaches do, and understands the decisions we make. So his skills in those regards…(are) really spectacular.”
