President Obama to attend Carrier Classic

President Barack Obama will be in attendance for the Carrier Classic basketball game aboard the USS Carl Vinson on Memorial Day.

Obama, who is a big fan of basketball, has accepted an invitation to attend the Nov. 11 affair between North Carolina and Michigan State in San Diego in what is the first game of its kind.

The game will take place on the flight deck of the Carl Vinson, which is the aircraft that conducted the burial of Osama bin Laden at sea following his death in a raid by Navy SEALs.

James Worthy and Magic Johnson will serve as honorary captains for their respective alma maters.

Seating for 7,000 fans will be set up to attend the game, with most tickets given to active military personnel.
