Toronto Raptors center Aaron Gray underwent a surgical procedure Monday to correct recurring episodes of a rapid heart rate.

Gray is expected to be able to return to the court following the procedure – termed an ablation – at Toronto’s Sunnybrook Hospital.

The 27-year-old Gray was signed by the Raptors on Dec. 11 and appeared in a pair of preseason games.

A second-round draft pick out of Pittsburgh in 2007, Gray averaged 3.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and a career-high 13.0 minutes last season for the New Orleans Hornets.
