The Chicago Bulls reportedly will bring back point guard Kirk Hinrich.

They have agreed to a two-year contract for about $3 million a season, the Chicago Tribune reported Sunday.

The Bulls selected Hinrich in the first round of the 2003 draft. They traded him to the Washington Wizards two years ago.

The Kansas product averaged 6.6 points and 2.8 assists in 48 games with the Atlanta Hawks last season. He has career averages of 12.5 points and 5.4 assists.

Hinrich would be expected to compete for a starting spot with Derrick Rose, who is out until at least midway through next season with a knee injury.

“I hope they can get it done because I know Kirk is a great player and it would help our team out a lot, especially right now in this season without Derrick (Rose),” Bulls forward Taj Gibson told ESPN.com.
