The Boston Celtics are expected to sign free-agent center Sean Williams and waive injured big man Jermaine O’Neal, ESPN.com reported.
Williams, who played at Boston College, was waived by the Dallas Mavericks last month. He is expected to join the Celtics in time for Friday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks.
Williams will provide depth behind veteran Kevin Garnett.
