Report: Dwight Howard has herniated disc
Posted By Alex Raskin On April 13, 2012 @ 10:16 pm In All,Main Page,NBA | No Comments
Magic center Dwight Howard has a herniated disc that will require 10 to 15 days of rest, sources have told Jarrod Rudolph of RealGM. That means the reigning NBA Defensive Player of the Year would miss the remainder of the regular season to deal with the injury, but he could still decide to play through the injury.
The team told the media on Thursday that Howard was visiting Los Angeles to get a second opinion on his back, and if Rudolph’s story holds true, that examination didn’t turn out well for Magic fans.
As mentioned in the NBA PM, Howard has missed four of his last six games while dealing with back issues and that has coincided with the Magic’s fall from the third seed in the East to the sixth seed. If the playoffs started today, Orlando would face the third-seeded Indiana Pacers.
Howard originally started experiencing back pain against the Dallas Mavericks on March 30th.
