With the departure of Jason Kidd to the Knicks, the Dallas Mavericks are taking another run at free agent guard Ramon Sessions, ESPNDallas.com reported.
Sessions is seeking a starting job and security, according to the report, and with Kidd gone, the Mavs may be able to provide that.
The Mavs are scheduled to talk with Sessions again on Friday.
Sessions, who was acquired by the Los Angeles Lakers in a deadline trade for Derek Fisher, would have made $4.55 million next season, but he opted out of the final year on his contract. Sessions averaged 12.7 points, 6.2 assists and 3.8 rebounds in 23 games for the Lakers, but his numbers declined dramatically in the postseason.
