Report: Rockets to buy out Fisher’s contract?
The Houston Rockets are expected to buy out the contract of newly acquired point guard Derek Fisher.
Houston traded forward Jordan Hill to the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday in exchange for Fisher and a first-round draft choice.
According to the Houston Chronicle, Rockets general manager Daryl Morey declined to discuss Fisher’s future with the club.
The 37-year-old Fisher was a member of five world championship teams with the Lakers, who acquired point guard Ramon Sessions in a separate trade Thursday.
Under terms of the new collective bargaining agreement, Fisher is not allowed to return to the Lakers this season. He averaged 5.9 points and 3.3 assists.
