Syracuse center Fab Melo, who has missed three straight games due to an academic issue, has been reinstated and will play in the Orange’s game against St. John’s on Saturday, according to two sources.

Both sources said an official announcement will be made on Thursday.

Melo, a 7-foot sophomore, sat out recent games against Notre Dame, Cincinnati and West Virginia, while attempting to resolve the academic issue. Melo was averaging 7.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per game prior to his suspension. He also led the team with 60 blocked shots.
