Washington Wizards forward Rashard Lewis did not play in Sunday’s game against Minnesota because of what the team said was a sore right knee.

However, CSNWashington.com, citing a team source, reported that Lewis begged out of the game after he was involved in a pregame argument with assistant coach Sam Cassell.

Lewis was not on the bench during Washington’s 92-73, a defeat that dropped the team to 0-8 on the season.

The team’s highest-paid player, Lewis is averaging 8.7 points and 4.7 rebounds in his first full season with the Wizards.
