Rubio won’t play against Miami Tuesday

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Ricky Rubio, who made his season debut Saturday night against the Dallas Mavericks, on Monday told local reporters he won’t play Tuesday against the Miami Heat.
He will play against the Orlando Magic Monday night, but the team’s medical staff is not allowing him to play both games of a back-to-back as he’s returning from knee surgery.
“I want to play, but I’m not cleared to play back-to-backs,” Rubio told the St. Paul Pioneer Press Monday. “I wish I could play in all the games more than 20 minutes, but I have to make sure my knee is OK before I start playing all those minutes.”
Rubio is coming off the bench as he continues to heal from ACL and MCL surgery.
