When the HEAT recently visited Houston, the Rockets honored Shane Battier with an in game video tribute honoring his time and contributions with the franchise.

The acknowledgement of respect for his service was something Battier says he will cherish forever when looking back at his career.

“It was special,” Battier said to HOOPSWORLD on the recognition. “Very special and something I will remember the rest of my life. When you’re in a place for five years you hope to leave a positive mark. You hope that people remember you fondly. Very few people get video tributes so it was a touching moment. I’m trying to focus on the game and I‘m laughing and getting emotional over this video, but it was very special for me.”
