Rockets’ Lin Bruises Chest in Game 2
Jeremy Lin knew as soon as he ran back to the court for the second half that something was very wrong. He thought he would play. One way or another, he insisted to Rockets trainer Keith Jones and coach Kevin McHale he could play, even as he was grimacing in obvious pain.
Moments later, just as the ball was about to be inbounded for the second half, he was done for the night, knocked out by a bruised chest muscle. X-rays were negative, and he is hopeful that he can return on Saturday for Game 3 against the Thunder, but as with his planned return on Wednesday, he knew it was too soon to say.
