Rose Happy With ‘Rule’ Bearing His Name

When I spoke to Derrick Rose at his alma mater, Simeon Career Academy, one thing I had to ask the youngest MVP in league history about was the so-called “Derrick Rose rule.”

“It’s unbelievable,” Rose told CSNchicago.com in an exclusive interview after a Monday-night workout.  “The rule, I guess it fits me, for what I achieved at a young age and hopefully, there will be a couple more people like me.”

For those who may be unfamiliar, one of the stipulations the players argued for in the tentative settlement agreement with the league was rewarding young players who outperform their rookie contracts, hence the rule’s nickname.
