Rose: Wants ‘To get Smarter as a Player’
His older brother Reggie said Derrick (Rose) is scheduled to leave Oct. 23 to participate in Hoops for Troops, a United Service Organization event in Honolulu and Guam to boost morale for members of the U.S. military. Several other NBA players are scheduled to join him.
Derrick also said he recently worked out with Joakim Noah in Santa Monica, Calif., and quickly ticked off current locations for teammates Carlos Boozer, Luol Deng, Keith Bogans and C.J. Watson, with whom he stays in regular contact.
“I’ve been working on my post game,” Rose said. “I’ve sharpened up my shooting and dribbling. I’m trying to get smarter as a player.”
That would be for whenever there are NBA games, not necessarily overseas opportunities, for which Rose already has at least one concrete offer.
“I’ll take it into consideration,” Rose said. “But I’m trying to stay positive, thinking there will be a regular season. People need to stop being greedy.”
