INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert was suspended Wednesday for his role in a brawl Tuesday night with the Golden State Warriors. But first, he apologized.

“My mom was a little upset,” Hibbert said. “She said I should have walked away. It’s unfortunate it happened. I watched the video and I saw there was a little kid that ran up out of his seat when all that happened. I apologize to the fans that were sitting courtside. We’re a team that loves the fans and we don’t want to scare them away.”

Hibbert was ejected for picking up two technicals after getting into a shoving match with Warriors big man David Lee. Hibbert also threw Warriors point guard Stephen Curry to the side twice. Lee also took a one-game suspension for the brawl.

Golden State’s Lee, Curry and Klay Thompson were given technicals. Pacers forward David West also received a technical.

Hibbert said he talked to league officials this morning to give his side of things.

An NBA spokesman said it’s uncertain when there will be an announcement. It’s possible the league will suspend Hibbert at least one game.

Pacers coach Frank Vogel said he’s preparing as if he’ll have every player available against the Clippers.
