LOUISVILLE — University of Louisville guard Russ Smith said Wednesday that he plans to return for his senior season.
Smith, listed at 6-0, 165 pounds, led the NCAA champion Cardinals in scoring at 18.7 points a game.
“I really realized how much I enjoyed playing with my teammates and how much fun it is to win,” Smith said.
Coach Rick Pitino said one goal is for Smith to add 10 pounds of muscle to make a bid to be a first-round NBA draft pick after next season.
“When he leaves here, he is going to be one of the most successful Louisville basketball players ever,” Pitino said.
