Seton Hall recruit held out of Elite 24.

Seton Hall basketball recruit Aquille Carr, charged with assault last week, will not be playing in the Under Armour Elite 24 basketball event this weekend.
Carr, a 5-7 senior guard from Patterson (Baltimore), was arrested last week and faces second-degree assault and reckless endangerment in an incident involving the mother of his child. Out on $50,000 bail, his next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 19.
Carr, 18, led Patterson to the 3A state title last season. He was initially selected for the Elite 24, which involves a game and a a dunk contest at the Venice Beach courts in Los Angeles. The event is televised on ESPNU Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. (ET).
Gracie Blackburn, a spokeswoman for ESPN, said that it was the organizers’ decision to withdraw Carr from the Elite 24.
Robbinsdale Cooper (North New Hope, Minn.) guard Rashad Vaughn will take Carr’s spot.
Milwaukee Bucks point guard Brandon Jennings and Charlotte Hornets guard Kemba Walker will coach the the two 12-man teams at the Elite 24.
Jennings will be assisted by Minnesota Timberwolves forward Derrick Williams. Los Angeles Clippers center DeAndre Jordan will help Walker.
