Should Anthony Davis Be the Top Pick?

All the way back in December, Kentucky big-man Anthony Davis was pegged as the prize of the 2012 NBA draft; a transcendent player who could restart any franchise.
Wednesday night the NBA distributes its top three picks in the annual draft lottery. Following a 7-59 season, the worst by winning percentage in league history, the Charlotte Bobcats will have a 25 percent chance at the top pick, undoubtedly Davis.
Is the freshman all that? Yes, says Ryan Blake, the NBA’s senior director of scouting operations.
“My father (longtime basketball scout Marty Blake) always said a center who can dominate comes along about once every 25 years; we’re talking about guys who can change the game at both ends of the floor,’’ said Blake. “You could see that in Dwight Howard; that he might take some time to develop, but he would have that effect.
