It was another Monday night at the Wells Fargo Center before a Philadelphia 76ers home game, so that could mean only one thing — Andrew Bynum gave an update as to when he will make his long-awaited debut with the team.

“Started to do basketball work,” he said. “I worked two days on the court, then I got a lot of pain so we backed down a little bit (Monday). I was doing defensive slides, just have to progress as much as we can.”

“I’m not sure (if I’ll be back in February),” Bynum said when asked if that was still his goal. “It’s all going to depend on whether we get a setback or not. Right now I think things are going well.”

The fact that Bynum is experiencing pain after working out on back-to-back days in not a good sign.

“I’m not very optimistic,” he said of his increased workload meaning he will be on the floor soon. “When I get on the court, that’s when I’ll be ready. I’m trying as hard as I can. It would suck to play through pain, but sometimes you have to.”
